Zachary Hunt

Hey, I’m Zach.

I design products that make complex things feel simple.

Senior Product Designer with 12+ years across software engineering and product design. Experienced designing B2B SaaS products in fintech and insurtech, bringing clarity to ambiguous problems, and simplifying complex workflows.

Enterprise software, side projects, and a few excuses to obsess over details.

I have apps on the App Store

Praily

Praily began with a simple question: How can technology support prayer without becoming the focus? The result is a calm, thoughtfully designed experience that helps individuals and churches organize prayer requests, stay intentional, and build a more consistent prayer habit.

Daily Psalms & Proverbs

Daily began as an attempt to solve my own frustration of remembering which Psalm and Proverb to read each day. It became an exploration in intentional simplicity, visual craft, and designing the experience around the user rather than the app—including native Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets that deliver Scripture without requiring someone to open the app.

About

Zachary Hunt overlooking Florence

Hi, I’m Zach.

I’m a product designer with a background in product design and software engineering, which means I enjoy working where product, design, and engineering overlap. I like asking difficult questions, untangling messy systems, and helping teams build products that are both useful and enjoyable to use.

Over the last 12+ years, I’ve worked across digital banking, mortgage, and insurance, designing products for complex B2B platforms where the details matter, trust is earned through every interaction, and the problems rarely have obvious answers. More recently, I’ve been exploring how AI is changing the way we design software. From conversational interfaces and intelligent workflows to AI-powered prototyping and product discovery.

Outside of work, I’m usually building something. Sometimes it’s an app. Sometimes it’s experimenting with AI development tools. Sometimes it’s organizing events to highlight Utah’s hospitality scene because I believe the best experiences, whether they’re digital or physical, make people happier.

I care about products that solve real problems, teams that enjoy building together, and ideas that are worth turning into reality.

How I Operate

My approach has been shaped by twelve years of building products across product design and software engineering. These principles guide how I work with teams and solve problems.

01

Solve the Right Problem

I don’t jump straight to solutions. The best products come from understanding the customer, the constraints, and what’s actually broken before designing anything.

02

Move Quickly

Ideas are cheap. I use AI-powered prototypes to turn concepts into production-quality experiences in hours instead of days, helping teams validate ideas earlier and make better decisions with confidence.

03

Bridge Silos

My background in software engineering helps me connect design, product, and engineering, making ideas easier to build, easier to communicate, and ultimately easier to ship.

04

Make It Dead Simple

I enjoy untangling complex systems and turning them into products that feel intuitive. Whether it’s banking, mortgage, insurance, or AI-native workflows, my goal is to reduce friction without sacrificing capability.
